If you could be 21 years old and part of a club scene in its height, which would it be?
I think I would have to choose CBGB's. I have always had a soft spot for punk rock boys and it would be cool to witness such a great part of music history.
Then again, I love to swing dance and the fashion of the 40's is one of my faves.
But, the I-Beam would have been great just to see the transition in music when New Wave hit.
Come to think of it, I would have loved to have witnessed the whole Madchester scene.
Oh well, I guess it's like candy...I can't decide which flavor is my favorite.

Thu, February 2, 2006 - 7:14 AMWell, since I was old enough to go to clubs for most of the 80's I think if I had to do it again
this time I would try CBGB's. But, I would have to start a bit earlier than 80's to see the great bands from that scene. Although I would really have to fight not being part of the Manchester scene. I'll go with CBGB's though.
Could I clone myself maybe? Be at CBGB's and the Hacienda!
yeah, I change my answer to being in two places at once. Am I aloud to do that? ;) -

Thu, February 2, 2006 - 7:48 AMNo doubt about it....late 70's CBGB's. That and Studio 54 during the disco heyday. Like they'd ever let ME in the door. Imagine P'lito hitting on Bianca Jagger?!?
Hmm.... come to think of it, me and Bianca are both from Nicaragua. I could have given her an opening line like, "So what town are you from? Ever been to Tipitapa?" -

Honey you could sneak past the ropes SO easily...they'd never notice you coming in!! haha
I think my vote would go for the Hacienda, with CBGB's a close second. I've been to Popstarz, and it was ok but there was more music that I didn't care for than stuff that I really liked! (that was about 6 years ago though, maybe more)

Sat, February 4, 2006 - 12:58 AMI don't know about the clubs, but I would have loved to be part of the 20's through the 40's. However, I would have needed to find the fountain of youth so that I would still be young enough for my beloved new wave era!
