Shadowplay, the indie, new wave, electro, discopunk club, this Friday 2/2 celebrates its Two Year Anniversary at the Stud, with DJ Donimo and 5 favorite guest DJs from the past 2 years: Skip (New Wave City), Julian DeStrukt (Pop Roxx, Tokyo Electric), Candy (Decade), Tomas Diablo (Strangelove), and Walter Crasshole (All Men Are Evil...). Plus go go dancers Ben and Annie, and the Stud's cheap, stiff drinks to keep you dancing.

10pm-3am. Free before 10:30 (11:30 for guestlist); $5 after

      Great party! That was really fun.

      I picked out 4 or 5 Indie tracks to play and 4 or 5 Electronica tracks. Then I burned them on to two CD's so I wouldn't have to bring a lot of stuff with me. On my way to the club I realized I put all the Indie tracks on one CD. Kinda difficult to mix from one song to another when they're on the same CD. Duh! So there wasn't a great flow to my set, but everyone seemed to dance anyway.

        Everything before the Dandy Warhols in my set is "bonus". I arrived at the Stud at 9:30, and there was some really slow, depressing music playing. When some people walked in, Donimo shouted "Quick - throw on something upbeat! I don't want these people to think that THIS is what Shadowplay is about." I'm a little embarrassed to admit that the first thing I grabbed for was Gwen Stefani. Heh.
