And the final song ever at DECADE…
Donna Summer - Last Dance
The final song is appropriate for two reasons- the obvious reason being the lyrics. And the other reason is because when Candy and I first talked about opening a club together, we were going to do a 70’s Disco club. Then we said, what about doing a different decade theme for every event? And then finally we ended up going with the format that you knew and loved, of a different decade every hour.

Re: 2-Year Anniversary Party - who played what...
Mon, March 12, 2007 - 10:07 AMWhere's the "(for Tomas)" after Huey Lewis?
I REALLY enjoyed Donimo's and Lowlife's sets. Donimo's was like a history lesson - I really feel like I understand discopunk a little better now. And Lowlife's was pure unadulerated cheesy joy. -
-
Re: 2-Year Anniversary Party - who played what...
Mon, March 12, 2007 - 11:11 AMand where's the (for DINA) after MOTLEY CRUE!!!???
yeah I have to say Timmy's set aka lowlife was my fave!!! and notice how he played TWO songs called "Point of No Return"?! I can't even think of how the Company B one goes, cause Expose's is FAR superior! -
-
Re: 2-Year Anniversary Party - who played what...
Mon, March 12, 2007 - 11:16 AMT'was a fun night. Good music and company. I'm sorry we left early. -
-
Re: 2-Year Anniversary Party - who played what...
Mon, March 12, 2007 - 12:44 PMP'lito how was your kid's show??? -
-
Re: 2-Year Anniversary Party - who played what...
Mon, March 12, 2007 - 1:07 PMPretty good. The place was packed and the crowd was in an upbeat mood. They cheered the band after each songs. The kids were pretty nervous and made a few mistakes in their solos, etc but I thought they did a good job pulling it all together. I thought they were very entertaining but hey, I'm extremely biased.
Ian totally scored after the show. A group of teenage girls came up to him to chat him up and take photos with him.
I think I need to give him the talk soon. -
-
Re: 2-Year Anniversary Party - who played what...
Mon, March 12, 2007 - 1:38 PMyes, tell him not to make the same mistakes you did. HA! -
-
Re: 2-Year Anniversary Party - who played what...
Mon, March 12, 2007 - 2:12 PM>"yes, tell him not to make the same mistakes you did. HA! "
Mistakes‽
I think P'lito did pretty good for himself. I think Mrs. P'lito is an awesome woman and they seem like a great couple. Ian seems like a pretty good kid (interesting lyrics for a boy so young.)
After you have been married for nearly a century like P'lito, you tell me if you made a mistake. -
-
Re: 2-Year Anniversary Party - who played what...
Mon, March 12, 2007 - 3:56 PMI was KIDDING Tony. PLus I was referring to PRE-Mrs. Plito.
-
Re: 2-Year Anniversary Party - who played what...
Tue, March 13, 2007 - 9:17 AMIt's a new era when Tony publicly compliments P'lito.
On another note....
Thanks Skip and Candy for the fun times at Decade. I'm sorry it was the last one. Sorry we had to leave before the end, but Thomas' cold meds were wearing off. And I've got the Demi Moore voice today, so I think I'm sickie now too. -
-
This is the maximum depth. Additional responses will not be threaded.
Re: 2-Year Anniversary Party - who played what...
Tue, March 13, 2007 - 12:29 PMThanks...
1. Tony, for the kind comments but, FYI, Ian is almost 16 so those 'FU' and 'I don't give a shit' comments (directed at his dad mainly) are pretty standard for a kid his age.
2. Skip and Candy for a truly fun event that I often looked forward to on a Friday after work. -

Re: 2-Year Anniversary Party - who played what...
Tue, March 13, 2007 - 12:31 PMOh... and I have NOT been married for a century, ok?
It only seems that long. -
-
Re: 2-Year Anniversary Party - who played what...
Tue, March 13, 2007 - 3:29 PM> "Oh... and I have NOT been married for a century, ok?
>It only seems that long."
ahem... you mean "you only look" that long -
-
Re: 2-Year Anniversary Party - who played what...
Tue, March 13, 2007 - 3:34 PMHow can anyone look "long", dummass. They can look old. ...or in football, they go long, but nobody looks long.
They can look longingly though. Did you mean that?

Re: 2-Year Anniversary Party - who played what...
Mon, March 12, 2007 - 2:36 PMA lovely sendoff! All the sets were great, and I was really sad I only got the hear the last half of Donimo's set. I did not dive into the cake for fears of a bad sugar crash, but, on a completely unrelated note, I had no idea Company B did any songs beyond "Fascinated." Who knew? -
-
Re: 2-Year Anniversary Party - who played what...
Mon, March 12, 2007 - 3:53 PM"I had no idea Company B did any songs beyond "Fascinated." Who knew? "
Wasn't that the song that got played? Maybe we just THINK it's called Fascinated?? -
-
Re: 2-Year Anniversary Party - who played what...
Mon, March 12, 2007 - 9:51 PMDecade went out with a bang. It was great night.
Thanks Candy & Skip. Sniff...sniff.
