Re: Pajama Party with Covers - who played what
Wed, May 10, 2006 - 8:31 AMNouvelle Vogue + Angel City + Skye + Axxis + Nicki French + Aurora + Toy Dept + Milk Inc = ACE of BASE -
-
Re: Pajama Party with Covers - who played what
Wed, May 10, 2006 - 9:31 AMtake Nouvelle Vague off that list and I may agree with you. Nouvelle Vague does loungy bossa nova versions of new wave classics. Check out this link, where you can listen to their version of 'Love Will Tear Us Apart", as well as other classics like "A Forest" and "The Killing Moon":
www.nouvellesvagues.com/englis...ic.html
"Bossa Nova", by the way, translates into English as "New Wave". Spooky. -

Re: Pajama Party with Covers - who played what
Wed, May 10, 2006 - 9:38 AMTake Toy Dept. off that list. I happen to like their cover of Slave to the Rhythm. I also have a special place in my heart for the band :P

Nouvelle Vogue covered "Too Drunk To F**K".
I know that is your wife's and your song.
Go check it out and stop complaining.
We already know you own everthing
Ace of Base ever did. ;) You probably do yoru "Tom Cruise"
underwear sliding in your socks down the hall to Ace of Base.
Oh god what have I just done...that image! Get it out of my head. -

Re: Pajama Party with Covers - who played what
Wed, May 10, 2006 - 10:46 AMJohn, don't knock getting drunk. It's the only time my wife will go near me. After two margaritas I begin to look like Johnny Depp.
Apologies about Nouvelle Vogue or Vague, and the other group that Kitten mentioned. Never heard of them. Remember, I'm old. My time was the polyester disco era.

Re: Pajama Party with Covers - who played what
Wed, May 10, 2006 - 10:02 AMI had often heard that version of "Money" played on 92.7 WDRE, the new wave station in New York (sadly, they are no more - changed formats to become a Spanish station) but never knew who did it. Very happy to finally know the band, after all these years.
I can't believe "Girls Just Want to Have Fun" was written by a guy - it's such a girl anthem. -

Re: Pajama Party with Covers - who played what
Wed, May 10, 2006 - 10:40 AMI can't believe "Girls Just Want to Have Fun" was written by a guy - it's such a girl anthem.
Yeah, Robert Hazzard. He also wrote, "Escalator of Life".... a very old new wave song.
Get it? "Old" "New" wave?!

I thought covers were those folded square cardboard like things that those big round plastic-y like things with those lines that got all scratched up went into.
Or are they something you sleep under?
Or on my tupperware? -

Re: Pajama Party with Covers - who played what

Re: Pajama Party with Covers - who played what
Wed, May 10, 2006 - 10:24 AMWhat? No one's going to point out that the flyer for the "Pajama Party with Cool Covers" happened to also say "No Cover" at the bottom?
"Mr. Simpson, this is the most blatant case of fraudulent advertising since my suit against the film, "The Never-Ending Story''." -

Wed, May 10, 2006 - 1:30 PMMaybe Johnny Depp as Keith Richards as a pirate and
if we had on a really thick pair of glasses, that needed to be cleaned
on a night with a total eclipse. ;) Maybe then you might start to resemble
Johnny Depp. Oh yeah, I forgot all the margaritas as well. -
