Re: How to play "What's the Connection?"
Wed, January 10, 2007 - 3:07 PMThanks, Cliff Clavin.
Skip, wouldn't it be easier if you just printed the connection answer upside-down at the bottom of the page in small font? We won't look at the answers but can refer to them after the contest is over. Just like the crossword puzzles. -

Wed, January 10, 2007 - 6:31 PMOhh yeah, and btw... No Frida was not the 8th member of Duran Duran! -

Re: How to play "What's the Connection?"
Thu, January 11, 2007 - 8:45 AMIn my defense, some of these connections are a tad too thin. No one's going to get the connection -say- between Duran Duran and The Sex Pistols.
Answer: Duran Duran's road manager in the 80's had a brother who was married to a woman who's sister knew the president of Sierra Leone. That president, on his first visit to the States, brought back some souvenirs which included the album 'Never Mind the Bollocks' for his rebellious teenage daughter. And there is your connection.
I say, keep it simple, like the connection between Joy Division and New Order. Now THAT one I know! -

Re: How to play "What's the Connection?"
Thu, January 11, 2007 - 9:08 AMThere's a connection between Joy DIvision and New Order? Oh wait... they both had albums called 'Substance'. Okay. -

You know that is dang confusing, why the heck would two totally unrelated bands release an album of the same name with nearly the same layout? You would almost think they were the same band like "reborn" or something... Damn Born-Agains...
