Skip didn't you tell me you were paying people to dance to this song?

Hey Ya should get points for most bar-wide participation - people in the seats were clapping and singing along.

I had fun - I got to swing dance with Tony and Thomas and disco with Candy.

Wiseguys - Start the Commotion... oddly fitting for Decade, as it samples styles from the 60s, 70s, and 90s. The video does a good job of representing that.

I'm having a hard time getting over the fact that you played that horrid Sheryl Crow song. in the SAME DECADE theme as DEPECHE MODE! BLASPHEMY!

It went over surprisingly well. Tesla Boy was downright giddy about it.

Well, there was a rather heated debate at the bar as to the suckyness of Ms. Crow.
As usual, there was a consensus that she does, indeed, suck, but Tony was
saying, "Y'all are crazy man. Sheryl Crow is great!"
          • Sheryl Crow

            Tue, October 10, 2006 - 1:41 PM
            OK... NOW HEAR THIS!!

            SHERYL CROW IS AWESOME!!

            She does not suck!!

Ya'll are crazy if you think otherwise. Don't go diss'ing Sheryl!!

She is a very versatile singer as well. Just because she is not New Wave does not mean she sucks!

So what do ya'll think 'Ol Blue Eyes sucks too because he is not New Wave? How about Tony Bennett? I bet you even think Raffi sucks because he is not New Wave!

            Learn to appreciate good music!!

              Brian Raffi?

                >"Brian Raffi?"

I was looking at this for a long time trying to figure out why you brought him into this... (Goes to show you've got New Wave on the brain!)

                From Wikipedia:

"Raffi Cavoukian, CM, OBC (born July 8, 1948), usually known simply as Raffi, is a popular children's entertainer in Canada, the United States, and the English speaking Western world at large. Some of his best known songs are "Bananaphone," "Baby Beluga," "Down by the Bay," "Shake My Sillies Out," and "All I Really Need.""

                Get with the times man!

You seriously put Sheryl Crow and Raffi in the same league as Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett? C'mon!

If I'm on a boat with the four of them and they get swept over the side and I've only got three life preservers-
                  Sheryl's goin' down!

All right the Skipper and I AGREE wholeheartedly!!!

I hate Sheryl Crow. I think she is awful. I don't think she is sexy in any way, shape, or form. Her music sucks and her voice is horrid. I had to endure her opening up for the Stones a couple years ago and it was the most painful hour of my life.

Tony, I do NOT hate her because she is NOT New Wave and I am insulted that you would even infer that. I listen to tons of different styles of music and this is why I've been working at a music venue for the past decade and sign up to work all kinds of crazy shit, from Bluegrass to Latin to Punk to Metal.

                    so PISS off!

                      >"so PISS off!"

This coming from someone whose favorite band is NKOTB!

I do not see what ya'll are saying... I think she is pretty good looking too, I would go out with her if I had a chance. And I like her music. It has soul and it can be very hearfelt. She has some songs that really make no sense and some that really hit down home.

I will bow down and agree that different people like different things, but to totally slander someone unjustly saddens me. I like almost every kind of music out there, I also know bad music and singing when I hear it (ever hear me sing?) To each their own. I was just deeply moved when Skip called Sherly Crow crap the other night. I have a lot of country & folk music which is more of where I think of Sheryl (and she is pop as well.) I know that a lot of people can not understand it all and do not like it and that is fine. We are individuals and I try to always remember that, we all have our own tastes and dislikes and that is fine. I am sorry that I objected to someone calling Sheryl Crow crap. I do not think you will ever really find me calling an artist horrible except for in two instances: Yucko Ono and Barney (Yoko just makes no sense to me, and Barney is a rip off!)

I hope I never offend any of your great artists.

I am very confused... Barney is an artist? Are we talking about the "I love you, you love me..."-singin' purple dinosaur? Who did he rip off? H.R. Puffenstuff?

Hey! I wasn't the one at the bar who said Sheryl Crow was crap. You were having that discussion with someone else and the two of you turned to me to settle the argument. I sided with the crap side. I don't dislike her really; I just think she's MOR-supermarket-elevator-ish music. But hey, "If it makes you happy."

God... so much turmoil over Sheryl Crow.

I'm glad I left Alanis Morrissette in the binder.

Sheryl Crow hasn't been this controversial since she dated Kid Rock. Now let's get back to something completely off-topic. Skip made a typo up there which is a reference to a Simpsons episode - who can find it?

So the score, as I see it, is:

P'lito, Tony, and Dan would definitely bang Sheryl Crow
Skip would bang Sheryl if she weren't so old
                              Dina would rather bang Barny
Tomas can't bang anyone until his back gets better

Tony my dear, everyone is entitled to their opinions about music and everything else, so don't take it personally! Believe me people have given me mucho shit over the years for a lot of the stuff I like! You think Sheryl has soul, and she makes me want to drink Drano-that's what makes the world go round baby!

I have a friend who's opened for her at Slim's and he says that Sheryl Crow is awesomely sexy. Of course, that was 12 years ago.

Let's face it Skip, you're the odd man out on that lifeboat, not Sheryl, Frank, or Tony.

Damn right. I don't care what anyone says: if you're doing a set called '90's Cheese Pop,' Ms. Crow is almost a must! In fact, that song must be the epitome of cheese pop itself. All it wants to do is have some fun, right? I also have a special connection with that album since it's the first CD I ever bought. Hearing it was like a strange trip down memory lane, and I actually had to listen to that album the next day. Bravo; well played!
